Ahh...The Life of a Temp

I apologize for not updating my blog in over week...I've actually been really busy working at all my temp assignments. Last week I actually worked 4 out of the 5 days doing temp receptionist work. It is great! Basically I get paid to answer phones, let people into the office, take care of catered lunch and get all my personal To Do lists written and magazines read. :) If I didn't need insurance and need to make so much money to live in New York City, these temp jobs would be an awesome gig for awhile. Last week I worked at an intimate apparel company called Wacoal. It was market week where all these buyers from stores across the U.S. come in to the showroom and pick out what they're going to sell in their stores for Spring 2009. The place I worked was coming out with a new line called b'tempt which will be out in stores in March. Although my days were a little boring, it was very interesting seeing how the intimate apparel industry works.

Today I worked at LVMH (Louis Vuitton * Moet Hennessy) which is one of the most premier fashion companies in the world. As I walked up to the building at 57th & Madison I was excited to see what my new temp assignment would consist of today...would I be helping designers, organizing their closets, seeing the inside of the fashion world? Well, close. I counted inventory for Givenchy as well as other perfume and makeup. Basically I organized and counted makeup and perfume all day. It was fun. I'm going back tomorrow to count and organize some more merchandise. I think I'll be able to take some old samples home too!
