Alone this week in NYC

After my dad left on Sunday and Philip left for RAGBRAI (bike ride across Iowa) on Friday I have been alone here in New York working on finding my dream job and exploring the city.

On Sunday afternoon I ran along the east river. It was beautiful, lots of people, cool areas to chill, and a little doggie park that I had to stop and watch for awhile.

Monday I went to my first of many interviews with a temp/hiring agency and have a good feeling about this one. I also decided to get a new cell phone (same #) and now have unlimited minutes, text, email on my Sprint phone - so give me a call anytime! I've also been interviewing banks - visited 3 so far - to decide which bank I'm going to switch to here. But the best part about Monday was going to dinner with friends Kiersten (who I actually went to high school and college with at UNL) and Bridgett (who is friends with my sister's husband's family) at a great Italian restaurant on 60th & Lex called Brio. We had a wonderful time and I am lucky to have found some great friends here in the city.

Today I pretty much stayed inside my apartment all day applying for jobs online. It takes awhile but I've found some amazing jobs that I would love to do - we'll see...I'm staying hopeful. This evening I went to the Run NYC Running Club which starts at Niketown and goes through Central Park. I ran 4 miles with the group tonight and met a few fellow runners too. I'm pretty pumped about this running club - its' free, they have a variety of runs throughout the week, they have a bag check, and you get free water, food, fruit and Jamba Juice after the run! I plan to go on Thursday night too. It works into my training for the Women's Nike Marathon in San Fransisco in October as well.

I'd say so far I've stayed busy this week...tomorrow I'm going to the Damn Yankees musical with Bridgett and a couple of her work friends. This will be my first NYC Show! I can't wait.
